my wishes for you

I wish you a happy, healthy, bright and blessed new year.
I also wish you...

days filled with both the bad and the good, and the ability to notice both
a night filled with (really) good sleep, at least once per week
time for yourself
less worries about money
less worries about material things
precious time with your loved ones
extra money for fun stuff once in a while
motivation to know and learn more, lots of the time
good friends
good meals
more kisses (this is one of my resolutions for '09)

Happy New Year. See you in 2009...

Special Thanks

A special post to thank a special friend, Bobby. He was like freeking Santa Clause today. At about 1:00 this afternoon while wrapping gifts, and still in my pj's, I hear a knock at the door. It was Bobby, and in his arms was my.......COMPUTER!!!

My poor computer had become infected with some major viruses. Boo-hoo. Well, Bobby surprised me this afternoon with a fine Christmas present and returned my virus-free computer to me! Yay!

Thanks Bobby. When am I cooking you dinner to thank you...?

Highlights of '08

I have started to compile a list of some highlights of my year...

1. Finishing a major home renovation, our master bedroom. My hubby did most of the work himself, with the help of some good friends, so it took a while...but we love it!
2. Completing my certification in Life and Career Coaching. Had wanted to do this for a very long time. 2008 was my year, and I am so excited to launch my coaching business in 2009!
3. The birth of my second nephew, my godson, Thomas George, and watching my nephew Michael take on the role of big brother and say, "Aunt Paige".
4. Visiting with my 86-year old grandfather. He spent eight days at our house and it was so nice to have him.
5. Publishing my article.
6. Meeting some great new friends.
7. Starting a Women's Group. It is a great support and motivator.
8. Being approved to teach a Career Exploration course next semester at the college.

The list is still a work in progress, as I am sure there were many more highlights and good things in 2008.

So, what good things did your year bring?

Stocking Stuffers

If you are like me, then you love stocking stuffers at Christmas. Really, I could do without the big gifts and just open my stocking. Love it!

In this post I offer you some great stocking stuffer ideas...for the man in your life.

Manly Stocking Stuffer Ideas
1. Razors
2. Chapstick
3. Socks
4. Gum
5. Swedish Fish
6. Dunkin Donuts gift card

10. After shave lotion

I could literally make a trip to Target and fill my hubby's stocking...and that's just what I plan to do.

So, what do you put in the man-in-your-life's stocking?

Looking ahead...

I have so many things to look forward to in the upcoming few weeks before we celebrate the "big" day.

This weekend I will attend a friend's wedding. Good food, good friends and dancing! Fun! Then I will attend a Christening for baby Georgie, the son of one of my best friends. I am looking forward to it. Seeing her as a mother is actually really amazing.

Next week brings two holiday parties, a networking event, and an important workshop that I have been preparing for, for a few months now. We have an expert guest speaker coming in. Promises to be a good event.

The following week, yup you guessed it, another Christmas party.

And shoved in there, somewhere, I need to finish Christmas shopping for my hubby, visit the dentist (again!), and finish decorating my home.

More to come...and photos of our tree, too!

What are you up to?
