This was sent to me today...

Cool stuff, huh?
Getting my certification as a career and life coach was something I wanted to do for about three years! I met a career coach over three years ago and she really inspired me. 2008 was my year to do it, and I couldn't be happier with my decision!
As the year proceeds along, what new things have you done? Have you met someone inspirational? Did you set a goal, and have you met it?

Woo Hoo

You are now reading the works of a certified life purpose and career coach.

I received my certification and training through the Life Purpose Institute located in San Diego, CA. I completed 17 weeks of intense study, practice coaching sessions with a buddy coach (from class) and clients, and an oral examination. My instructor, Sharon and I met this evening via telephone to review my Marketing Plan and Transition Strategy. Once the review was complete, Sharon informed me that I had successfully completed all my requirements to become certified. The first thing I asked was..."So now I have my C's?" Woo Hoo!!!

This is so exciting!

Yup, that's me!

You had a bad day

Ok, so I have been really positive in my blogs about careers and about life in general, so when something bad happens, it really takes it toll on me.

My thoughts for the really bad days...

Tomorrow can only be better. I really believe this. When I have a bad day I must look ahead to tomorrow and believe in my heart that it will be better. My aunt always reminds me that time heals all wounds. I especially need to remember this at this tough time.

Someone is suffering more than I am. There are situations worse than mine. That really puts things in perspective for me.

I am blessed and lucky. I have a wonderful life and during my wonderful life, I am going to hit bumps, pot holes, and huge pits in my road. My support system is there for me, my family and friends and that makes all the difference. There comes a time to depend on them and they will know it. I of course, reciprocate when I am needed, and that is just as important.

Some things I do when I have had a bad day...

Blast a great song and sing it loud. Sometimes I dance too. I recommend "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey. Ooooh that's a good one!

Write. Getting your feelings on paper (or on computer screen) helps. It's visual. I highly recommend keeping a journal.

Cry. Yup, I know all about the water works. Some people call it pointless, but not me.

Pray. It's pretty powerful.

Talk to a friend. Talking it out really helps. It releases new thoughts and feelings. Hug it out if necessary.

For those of you going through a bump in your road, I send you hugs and positive thoughts for a better tomorrow.

Living well

I lived well today...did you?

Today I attended a networking workshop sponsored by Activ Entrepreneur, a business networking group for active, healthy, eco-friendly entrepreneurs. It was fantastic! I met a friend and fellow coach there. She told me all about her business and the new endeavors she was taking on and exploring. She is doing so well and it is so exciting to hear. I drank an organic wine margarita...YUM! I ate organic pesticide-free foods and appetizers from America's first all natural steakhouse. I met a holistic and health nutrition counselor, she was awesome! Gave me some great tips and we really connected. I also met a young women who is a publisher of a new magazine here on Long Island and she invited me to a great workshop next week. I can't wait to go. Oh...and my business card was pulled out of the vase and I won a t-shirt!

Yup, life is good!
